Major Versions[edit]

Version 1[edit]

Main article: Version History/1

The very first publicly released version of HyperRogue, known simply as Hyperbolic Rogue at this time. Significant additions include the Icy Land.

Version 2[edit]

Main article: Version History/2

The second major version of HyperRogue publicly released, created as an entry for the 2012 7 Day Roguelike challenge. Major additions of this update include the Crossroads, the Living Cave, the Desert, the Jungle, the Alchemist Lab, and the Mirror Land (precursor to the Hall of Mirrors.) This update also features Orbs for the first time.

Version 3[edit]

The third major version of HyperRogue publicly released. Major additions of this update include graphics (the game used ascii characters before that), the Land of Eternal Motion, the Graveyard, R'Lyeh, and Hell, along with the Yendor Quest. This update also features land unlocking requirements for the first time.

Version 4[edit]

The 4th major version of HyperRogue publicly released. Major additions of these updates include music and OpenGL rendering.

Version 5[edit]

The 5th major version of HyperRogue publicly released. Major additions of these updates include Cocytus, the Dry Forest, and localization.

Version 6[edit]

The 6th major version of HyperRogue publicly released. Major additions of these updates include the Vineyard, the Dead Cave, the Hive, the Emerald Mine, the Land of Power, Camelot, and the Temple of Cthulhu.

Version 7[edit]

The 7th major version of HyperRogue publicly released. Major additions of these updates include marine lands (the Caribbean, the Living Fjord, and the Ocean), gravity lands (the Ivory Tower), Red Rock Valley, the Minefield, the Crossroads II, the Crossroads III, Zebra, the Palace, and the Elemental Planes, as well as the Palace Quest, the Hardcore mode, the Random Pattern mode, and the Shoot'em up mode.

The 11th major version of HyperRogue publicly released. Major additions of these updates include the Irradiated Field, the Free Fall, the Brown Island, the Frog Park, the Eclectic City and the Wetland, as well as the Racing Mode and the Dual Geometry Mode.

Version 12[edit]

The 12th major version of HyperRogue publicly released. Major additions of these updates includes the Dice Reserve and the Cursed Canyon, which also introduces Curses to the game.

Version 13[edit]
